Configure 602LAN SUITE’s attachment filter to block all incoming and outgoing attachments
602LAN SUITE’s powerful attachment filter can be used to strip attachments from e-mail. Use this feature along with the built-in anti-virus feature to virtually eliminate any e-mail borne malware threat! Additionally, the attachment filter can be used to block outgoing e-mail attachments, which can be used to prevent your users from leaking sensitive documents and data to users outside the company.
Enable the attachment filter
The attachment filter is disabled by default in 602LAN SUITE. To enable this feature, do the following:
- In 602LAN SUITE 2004, click Settings, then click Advanced Configuration.
- Click the Attachment Filter tab.
- Click the checkbox next to the Check delivered e-mail messages for unwanted attachment extensions option to
enable the attachment filter. - Remove all the text from the Unwanted attachment extensions text box and enter an asterisk (*) in this box.

Configure the attachment filter actions
Now that the attachment filter has been enabled and configured to block all attachments, we need to configure 602LAN SUITE to discard the attachments. To do this:
- On the Incoming Message sub-tab, click the Deliver message to recipient with unwanted attachment removed radio button.
- If you would like a copy of the message delivered to a special account for review, you may click the Deliver message to a special account option, then select the account you wish to have the message delivered to from the list.
- From the Outgoing Message sub-tab, click the Don’t deliver message to recipient radio button.
- Click Save to save your settings.
