Configure multiple e-mail domains and aliases in 602LAN SUITE
602LAN SUITE makes it easy to host e-mail for all of your domains in a central location. If you are receiving mail from your ISP via POP3 collection or directly from the 602LAN SUITE SMTP service, you can take advantage of the multiple e-mail domain support in 602LAN SUITE.
Adding multiple domains
The easiest way to get up and running with multiple domains is to simply add them to the default domain field. Multi-domain support is available in 602LAN SUITE build 2004.0.05.0207 or later. To add a default domain, do the following:
- From the 602LAN SUITE Console, click Settings, then Advanced Configuration.
- Click the Users tab.
- Enter your domain names in the Default domain field separated with a comma (e.g. domain1.com, domain2.net).
- Click Save to save your settings.
- Now, if you had the domains “domain1.com” and “domain2.net”, and a created user named “bob”, an Internet user could e-mail either “bob@domain1.com” or “bob@domain2.net”, and the user mailbox “bob” will receive the message.

NOTE: If you are receiving e-mail directly from the Internet via SMTP to 602LAN SUITE, you will need to change your MX records for the domains entered into the Default domain field to point to 602LAN SUITE’s public IP address. Please contact your ISP or DNS hosting provider for assistance with configuring MX records.
Use aliases to route e-mail
E-mail aliases are an extremely easy and useful way to route e-mail to specific mailboxes. Aliases allow you to route e-mail messages without the need for separate accounts. Here’s how to add an alias:
- From the 602LAN SUITE Console, click Settings, then Advanced Configuration.
- Click the Users tab.
- Click the user you would like to add an alias, then click Properties.
- In the Aliases field, enter the full e-mail address of the alias you would like to create.
- Click OK, then Save to save your settings.

NOTE: You can add the same alias to multiple accounts to create a simple local mailing list. Whenever e-mail is sent to this alias, it will be delivered to ALL user mailboxes that have this alias.
