Faxing is a must for any office. The ability to fax straight from your desktop, versus running across the room to the fax machine, is a guaranteed productivity enhancer. Send a fax from LAN SUITE without ever having to print a document. All incoming faxes are delivered directly to users inboxes. Start saving money on paper now.
Setting up the Fax tab
The default values of the general tab will work well for most cases, but you will want to make the following changes for your personal or company use:
- Fax Identification: Insert your company or personal name here.
- Print received Faxes Using: Choose any printer on your system to print out received faxes upon their arrival. This is an optional selection and is not required to receive faxes.
- OLE Support: The file extensions listed here are the files types that LAN SUITE is capable of converting to a fax when using the Fax via E-mail method.

Setting up the TAPI tab
The TAPI tab will retrieve most of it’s setting automatically from the Windows Operating System. There are 2 items you will want to focus on.
- TAPI Device List: This is the list of modems (TAPI Devices) installed on the PC. You can use one modem which shares both faxing and Internet connection duties or you can use a dedicated fax modem for high volume faxing.
- Add Header line to Fax Message: This will identify to the recipient, where your fax is coming from. Usually you will have your company or personal name or the fax number inserted here.

Setting up users to receive faxes
Faxes are delivered through e-mail to all users who have receive unsorted faxes selected in their User properties. You can also specify faxes with a particular Fax ID to only be delivered to a specific user by specifying that Fax ID in his/her user properties.

Sending Faxes
You can send a fax via two ways using LAN SUITE. One requires a separate download and the other can be done using only your e-mail client (i.e. Outlook Express).
- Fax via E-mail: The fax via email method is done by taking the document you wish to fax and attaching it to e-mail. Once attached you may address the email to faxnumber@fax.fax (i.e. 9045656024@fax.fax) and when LAN SUITE receives and processes the e-mail it will automatically convert the attachment and send it out as a fax via the modem. When using this method, only file types listed under OLE supported file types on the Fax tab can be sent.
- SendFax Client: The SendFax client is a separate application that can be downloaded here. Once downloaded and installed, you may print your file to the Fax602 printer, enter the recipients Fax number and click send. Support for Outlook Express and Outlook address books is available with the SendFax client.
