How to use Web Mail through your Wireless Phone
You can now check your regular e-mail on-the-go using your wireless phone. Here is a list
of what you will need:
Requirements
- Internet capable phone that supports WAP (wireless access protocol) most “Internet Capable” wireless phones meet this requirement.
- Internet Access service for your phone.
- 602Pro LAN SUITE 2003 build 2002.0.02.0314 or later.
- An Internet connection for LAN SUITE that has either a static IP address, domain name or a dynamic DNS client such as TZO.
Setup
Due to the differences in each phone setup we cannot offer specific instructions on how to configure individual phones. Please use the following steps as a reference guide instead of exact instructions. For assistance, please consult your phone’s user manual or manufacturer.
- On your phone, Go to your favorite places.
- Add a new favorite place and give it a name like “EMAIL”.
- For the URL, enter the web address of your LAN SUITE server and add /WAP on the end. If you are using an Internet connection with a static IP address, your URL would look something like this: http://206.182.14.251/wap or http://www.yourdomain.com/wap
- Save your new favorite place.
NOTE: To test these instructions on different phones, you can download a free wireless phone emulator from http://www.yourwap.com/
Access Instructions
- On your wireless phone, access the newly created favorite place.
- You will be prompted to log in, enter your LAN SUITE username and password.
- You can now read your e-mail that you have received as well as send new mail.
