Use 602LAN SUITE to send a fax from any Windows application

In today’s office environment, the ability to send and receive a fax directly from the Windows desktop is a must for any organization. Desktop faxing provides users with the ability to send faxes as easy as printing a document or sending an e-mail. 602LAN SUITE’s built-in fax server along with the 602LAN SUITE SendFax Client can fax enable your network with only a few clicks of the mouse.

Enable and configure the 602LAN SUITE Fax server

Before you can begin faxing, you will need to enable the Fax server in 602LAN SUITE. Do the following:

  1. Launch 602LAN SUITE, click Settings, then Advanced Configuration
  2. Click the Fax tab.
  3. Click to enable the Fax Server checkbox.
  4. Click the TAPI sub-tab and ensure that your TAPI modem is selected on the TAPI device list.
  5. Click Save to save your configuration.

NOTE: A TAPI-compliant modem and an analog phone line are required to use the fax server.

Using the 602LAN SUITE SendFax Client

The 602LAN SUITE SendFax Client can be downloaded here. Each workstation that needs fax capabilities should install this software. To send a fax through the SendFax Client, do the following:

  1. Configure the SendFax Client using the instructions found here.
  2. Open the document to fax in the program used to create the document. Click File, then Print.
  3. Select the Fax602 printer from the printer list and click the OK button.
  4. Type the fax number of the recipient in the Enter a recipient manually field, then click the hand icon
    that is pointing to the Recipient’s list box.
  5. Click the Send button to send your fax to 602LAN SUITE.

Configure SendFax

NOTE: Users can also send a fax by sending an e-mail. To do this, simply attach the file to be faxed as an attachment and address the e-mail to phonenumber@fax.fax (e.g. 19045555555@fax.fax).
