Quarantine spam, viruses and executable file attachments via e-mail using 602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition

Protect your organization from any e-mail borne threats. 602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition provides all the tools necessary to easily quarantine spam, viruses and other malicious file attachments (malware) from your users. By placing these threats in a safe and secure quarantine, accessible only by an administrator, you can shield your unsuspecting users from these dangerous files.

Spam messages waste time and may also contain phishing schemes that attempt to scam your users into revealing private information. Protect your users and your organization, quarantine spam messages and let an administrator examine these messages at a later time.

Do the following to quarantine spam messages:

  1. Open 602LAN SUITE.
  2. Click Settings - Advanced Configuration…
  3. Click the Anti-spam tab.
  4. Select an account to quarantine all spam messages for the option Anti-spam account (e.g. the user quarantine).
  5. Select the Send to anti-spam account option.
  6. Click Save.

Virus quarantine

By default, 602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition removes the infected attachment before delivery to the final user. If your organization would like to access an attachment that was detected as a false-positive, setup the virus quarantine and have an administrator examine these messages.

Do the following to quarantine virus infected messages:

  1. Open 602LAN SUITE.
  2. Click Settings - Advanced Configuration…
  3. Click the Anti-virus tab.
  4. Click to enable the Send to special account checkbox.
  5. Select an account to quarantine all virus messages (e.g. the user quarantine).
  6. Select the Notification with original message body and attachment(s) option.
  7. Click Save.

Attachment filter quarantine

The attachment filter can block common executable code used to distribute malware. If your organization would like to access an attachment that was blocked, setup the attachment filter quarantine and have an administrator examine these attachments.

Do the following to quarantine blocked attachments:

  1. Open 602LAN SUITE.
  2. Click Settings - Advanced Configuration…
  3. Click the Attachment filter tab.
  4. Click to enable the Deliver message to a special account checkbox.
  5. Select an account to quarantine all blocked attachments (e.g. the user quarantine).
  6. Click Save.

Once all spam, viruses and malware have been quarantined to a special account (e.g. the user account quarantine), an administrator can easily access these messages from the built-in web mail client. An administrator can review the messages manually or on-demand from a user request.
