Use 602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition to track viruses on your network
The vast majority of viruses and worms in the wild today send e-mail to infect other machines. While some of these viruses use a built-in SMTP server, many of them rely on the SMTP server set in e-mail programs such as Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express to send their virus payload. 602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition can help you monitor and prevent the spread of viruses on your network.
Block infected outgoing messages
602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition will block outgoing messages that are infected to help prevent further infection. This is accomplished by setting the Anti-virus options in 602LAN SUITE to block these messages:
- Open 602LAN SUITE, click Settings and then click Advanced Configuration.
- Click the Anti-virus tab.
- Click the If outgoing message is infected tab.
- Configure the options as you would like. Click Save when satisfied with the changes.

Notify an Administrator when a computer is sending a virus
602LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition can also be configured to send a copy of the virus notification to Administrators, which makes identifying an infected system as easy as reading an e-mail. To configure this option, do the following:
- Open 602LAN SUITE, click Settings and then click Advanced Configuration.
- Click the Anti-virus tab.
- Click the If outgoing message is infected tab.
- Click to add a checkmark to the Send a notification to administrator(s) checkbox.
- Click Save to save your settings.
Now, when a virus is sent through 602LAN SUITE from a computer on your network, all Administrators will receive a copy of the virus notification, which includes the originating e-mail address.
