Use the same phone line for fax and e-mail
602Pro LAN SUITE contains powerful dial-up scheduling features that allow you to share one telephone line for both fax and Internet access. By setting up connection rules, you will be able to efficiently manage your phone line usage.
Setup a connection rule to dial out only when e-mail is waiting to be sent:
- Click the Connection tab under Advanced Configuration within 602Pro LAN SUITE.
- Under the Dial-up Schedule section, click the When at least 1 msgs are pending or a msg has been pending for 15 min checkbox to enable this rule.
- Then click the Release TAPI devide when at least 1 fax msgs are pending or a fax message has been pending for at least 60 min checkbox to enable this rule.
- Insure the When collecting POP3 mailbox option is checked so LAN SUITE will connect to your ISP to collect POP3 e-mail.

Now your 602Pro LAN SUITE will automatically dial-up when any fax or e-mail is ready to be sent or when you have a scheduled e-mail download. The rest of the time it will wait for incoming fax messages.
By default, 602Pro LAN SUITE will follow these rules 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have a metered Internet connection or you must pay a toll to connect to your ISP, you can easily save money by setting 602Pro LAN SUITE to dial out ONLY during business hours and connect ONLY when a certain number of e-mail is ready to be sent.
Setup a dial-up connection schedule:
- Click the Connection tab under Advanced Configuration within 602Pro LAN SUITE.
- Click the Mail Connection Schedule button.
- By default, all connection times are green, which means connections are allowed at these times. You can block times by clicking the corresponding time slots you wish for LAN SUITE to NOT connect to your ISP. These blocks are in 30-minute increments.
- When complete, click Yes.

The dial-up scheduler can be also used to schedule proxy server access to the Internet. Using the connection schedule mentioned above you now have full control of your dial-up connection to control your cost and usage.
