Software602 released new version of LAN SUITE with built-in firewall and anti-virus
(Jacksonville, Florida) Software602, Inc. has released the new version of 602Pro LAN SUITE. This network software includes a secure mail server with anti-virus & anti-spam, built-in firewall and proxy for controlled Internet sharing. The 5 user version is still FREE for commercial and non-commercial use.
LAN SUITE 2003 is an easy-to-install and manage all-in-one server application for MS Windows. Its standard-based SMTP/POP3 e-mail server provides effective e-mail communication without the risk of destructive virus infiltration and productivity robbing unsolicited e-mail. The fax service seamlessly integrates into user mailboxes to unify e-mail and fax message access. It supports any standard POP3 e-mail client (i.e. Outlook Express) as well as the built-in Web Mail client. The SSL SMTP/POP3 server secures encrypted transmission between the e-mail client and server. The built-in firewall provides effective protection against unauthorized access. Shared Internet Access through LAN SUITE grants the network users a controlled connection to the Internet.
New enhancements in the 2003 version are: advanced packet filter firewall with logging provides protection against unauthorized access, built-in BitDefender Anti-virus engine with scheduler offers up-to-date anti-virus protection (LAN SUITE Anti-virus Edition) and separate IP filters configurable for the Proxy, SMTP, WWW and Remote Administration services provides complete access control.
