602XML Form Server Overview

Easy integration

602XML technology can by easily implemented into any existing information technology infrastructure. Thanks to the open XML format it is possible to integrate collected data into any database or third-party application (SQL/ODBC). The process of data collection or approval can be connected to systems like SAP or Oracle. Data can be sent by HTTP(S) or SOAP directly to a database server or simply as a file by e-mail. Immediate integration to your applications can be used for simplification and acceleration of decisions as well as statistical output from collected data (e.g. Excel or OpenOffice.org) so you always work with up-to-date data.

602XML Form Server Benefits

Digital signatures

Digitally signed 602XML documents provide verification of who has filled the data into the form and that the data has not changed. The signature can be a personal certificate or signature of your organization. If the integrity of the form is compromised, the digital signature becomes invalid. You can sign the entire document using a digital signature from any certificate authority (PKCS#7 or X.509). Signing is integrated directly with certificate storage included in Microsoft Windows; thus it can be used with authentication modules such as a USB token or smart card.

Electronic data collection

Electronic data collection reflects on the effectiveness and amount of data collected, whereas paper documents represent unnecessary time and personnel costs for processing. All steps of data collection run quickly with 602XML form technology. Forms can be filled online or offline. Offline mode is suitable for filling large complex forms which take longer to complete. Data collected by 602XML can be in practically any format. Form elements include text fields, numbers, date/time, boolean, list boxes, bar codes (PDF417), and more. You can attach any type of binary attachment, draw sketches, embed pictures, write to text fields with rich-text formatting and use multiple functions which characterize intelligent form using special form fields. You can send the data to the 602XML Form Server after the fill out is complete.

602XML Form Server Savings

Control filled in information

It is not required to study instruction manuals or try to guess where to put information into certain form fields. A 602XML form is able to display context sensitive help for each field. The form will provide the user with automatic calculations and prefill fields where possible. The form is also able to prevent entering data to some fields after evaluation of previously filled data. You can also hide multiple parts of the form. Filling a form is made easy by spell checking that supports multiple languages.

Archive process

Business process automation

Business process automation brings acceleration to your business information circulation and cuts down personnel and material costs. Together with acceleration of current processes in your company, you can easily implement new processes into your existing infrastructure with 602XML. Interoperability of 602XML is provided by an open architecture where design and implementation of forms do not represent excessive cost. For successful fulfillment of data collection you just need to give privileges and duties to users and certain process. Because you can design a form in a pixel precise way, it will look exactly as the paper original and users will know what to do with the form without additional training. The data collection process is finished when the user sends the data or signs the form and sends it to the archive.

Archive process

You can view a completed form or see the status of a waiting form with a central overview of all archived records. Archiving means that the data is transferred from the form to SQL database tables of the 602XML Form Server, which brings interoperability to your data. One-click form export to Adobe PDF format can be used when you need to quickly flatten the form into a universally readable format. It can also be useful in a situation when 602XML documents work as a tool for creating/approving documents for a third-party (e.g. invoices, orders).

Open form architecture

602XML forms are based on the XSL:FO formatting language, which is a component part of the XSL specification; this specification determines how XML data should be presented and displayed on-screen, or in which graphical format they should be printed. The XSL:FO language format is fully compliant with the XML standard. Thus individual XSL:FO objects (blocks, tables etc.) are source of form files, together with object properties (that are defined using WYSIWYG approach during form design), which appear in the XML format of the form source code as elements and their corresponding attributes.

A 602XML form is composed of the following:

  • Formatting elements from the http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Format namespace (prefix fo).
  • Form elements from the http://software602.cz/forms namespace (prefix fm).

Formatting of the form document is fully compliant with the "Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL), version 1.0" specification, in accordance with W3C recommendation, as published on October 15th, 2001. This specification is available at this page. The XSL-FO specification is further extended by a set of attributes that represent form elements developed by Software602.
